May 22, 2012 by Anne Marie 12 Comments

New Creation Apparel Skirt Review & Giveaway

May 21, 2012 by Anne Marie 32 Comments

I love to wear skirts! They are warm in the winter, cool in the summer and are very flattering and feminine. Who doesn't enjoy wearing something with a touch of grace, and a bit of twirl? Although I'm seeing more and more skirts in stores these days, which is great, a lot are on the shorter side. Really short. Sew Silly Designs AI2 Diaper Review & Giveaway

May 14, 2012 by Anne Marie 52 Comments

Today I’m going to introduce you to Sew Silly Designs which is owned by a talented lady named Kammie who impressed me right off because I discovered that not all of the beautiful diapers she makes are for infants and young children. Kammie can also sew for special needs. In fact, the first diapers and covers that she made when her business first started were for an autistic 16-year-old boy.  Kammie says "I started this business to help my husband meet our financial needs to build our vision for Continue Reading

Carrot Casserole with Crumb Topping: a Southern Favorite

May 3, 2012 by Anne Marie 5 Comments

Root vegetables like carrots, turnips, sweet potatoes, beets and onions are staples in the South, but lots of people associate them with fall and the harvest table. Here at Zephyr Hill, we love them year-round! The Harvester truck came today and we were given 3 bags of carrots and 4 packs of blueberries (among other things). So I promptly made a huge blueberry cobbler and then got to work on the carrots. The recipe I am sharing below is very similar to one you'll find often on Southern tables Continue Reading

April 30, 2012 by Anne Marie 10 Comments

I want to tell you about an upcoming movie that your family might enjoy which just opened in Mexico last week and is coming to America on June 1st. The star of the movie, Andy Garcia, described it this way: "It broke all records in Mexico as the second highest grossing film since Titanic. It’s a universal, international story for the world. It’s a story that needs to be told." Garcia is referring to the Cristero Wars which raged in Mexico from 1926 to 1929. Fellow actor Eduardo Verastegui, Continue Reading
