Les produits de MaYa Liniment
If you’re tired of throwing away disposable wipes, or buying bottle after bottle of bum spray, consider something natural and EASY from Les Produits de MaYa. Their soothing liniment, made with love in Quebec, is a creamy, olive-oil based cleanser that just might change the way you think about changing diapers.
I know because I tried it myself years ago, and it’s still part of our daily routine. Olive oil doesn’t just clean stubborn, stuck on messes; it also moisturizes and softens the skin. I don’t know of a baby wipe that can do that. With a gentle, natural fragrance and no unnecessary ingredients or perfumes to irritate the skin, Les produits de MaYa liniment is something I would recommend to any parent. It comes in a convenient pump bottle or pour bottle. Pour a small amount on a cloth wipe and use to clean, moisturize and protect your baby’s skin at every change. This simple, natural formula will rinse completely from cloth products.

Sweet Pea newborn diapers also feature rise snaps to allow for adjustment as your baby grows. Annemarie LeBlanc says
Thanks for the gift guide. I will use this as reference if and when I get invited to a baby shower. Tell me more about the liniment and how it’s used – is it like a lotion?
Anne Marie says
Yes, it has the consistency of a very thin lotion and it’s meant to be spread on with a cloth or wipe to help clean your baby’s bottom better. After the cleaning part is done, you can also apply a very thin layer on as a moisturizer and protectant. ~Anne Marie
Erica Plough says
Cloth newborn diapers are SO nice to have! I know you can muddle through with FSTs and ‘newborn hack’ing one-size dipes but in those first weeks when you’re blurry-headed, baby cries at the newness of every single change, and those changes are sometimes only minutes apart… newborn sized diapers are wonderful. My sister and I have shared a stash for 2 babies apiece! Makes it very affordable even though we have to ship the lot. I’m squealing over those sweater prints, I have PLENTY of OS diapers now, but… I still may need some for my 2 month old.
My favorite gift for new moms is a care package for mom. Everyone loves to buy blankets and onesies. I give a box with easy to grab filling snacks like granola or trail mix, nuts, tea, (and ahem chocolate), dry shampoo, water bottle, lotion, nipple cream, chapstick, a magazine or novel, a microwavable heating pad. If we’re CLOSE 😉 stool softener and pads.
Best wishes on your pending birth experience, Anne!
Anne Marie says
The Sweater prints ARE so tempting, as is the 40% discount! I have a newborn stash ready, but nearly had a weak moment yesterday as I published the guide thinking “a few more couldn’t hurt.” LOL
Erica, I would totally flip for your care package idea! It’s natural to lavish the baby with gifts, but Mama has such a hard job ahead of her and tends to put herself last. – Anne Marie
Sarah says

Anne Marie says
I hope you’ll give it try! Wish I had been using it all along. Congrats to you as well, Andee! ~Anne Marie

mami2jcn says

Shirley Emitt says
I like them all, what a great selection of diapers.
Leigh Kitchens says
A NB or OS cover or a wet bag should be given to disposable using families as blow out blockers & something to store all the blow out clothes in when they don’t use the cover. I’m not being snarky…they really would be useful to have.
Anne Marie says
I agree, Leigh, and thanks for including an idea for families who choose the convenience of disposables in those early days! ~Anne Marie
Amy says
Different brands/styles or cloth diapers would be great gift. It took me a few weeks and some trial and error to see what I liked and what worked for my baby. I had a pretty decent stash when I started due to getting some free diapers, so I didn’t have to worry about not liking certain ones, and wasting money. I was able to save my money and buy more of the ones I did like.
