We all love getting cards and greetings by mail, right? I don’t know about you, but no one in my family argues over who gets to open and read email. Yet we all love to save our favorite cards and letters and pull them out from time to time just for fun. I have a box with all the cards my husband has given me on Valentine’s Day and for our anniversary.
Unfortunately, the modern mentality seems to be “who has time for that?” But what if you could have someone else print, stamp and mail customized cards for you? This is exactly what Greeting Card Universe offers! They make it easy and enjoyable to send cards to those you love by snail mail. I was recently given a complimentary store credit to purchase personalized cards from Greeting Card Universe and share my experience with you.
You have three options when it comes to creating a card.
- Greeting Card Universe will mail it directly to someone else on your behalf.
- Greeting Card Universe will mail it to you with an envelope so you can sign and send at your convenience.
- Greeting Card Universe will send it to a local store for you to pick up (Bartell or Target).
The selection at Greeting Card Universe is incredible, and I don’t say that lightly. I was able to find a birthday card specifically for our godson; it’s difficult to find something like that in a typical card store or supermarket. And there were HUNDREDS of choices in the “godson” subcategory alone! I chose this cute nautical-themed card for Tobias, who turns 1 this fall. Because there are still a few weeks until his birthday, I requested that this card be mailed to me. I can tuck a treat or a little bit of money into the card before giving it to him. Here’s what the front and inside of the card look like. You can use the included verse, or edit the text however you like (including changing the font, color and size).
We have another godson who lives out of state. So for this card, I opted to have Greeting Card Universe mail it for me. I picked this cozy, old-fashioned design and customized the text inside. Greeting Card Universe took it from there, saving me a stamp and a trip to the post office.
My sister’s birthday was also coming up so I had hers mailed to me as well. That way, I could hand sign and deliver to her personally. Once again, there were a huge number of cards to choose from – funny, serious, religious, whimsical, etc. The artwork spans many different styles so you can easily find what appeals to you personally. My sister loves to bake and she always gravitates toward vintage designs, so this adorable retro card was just perfect.
You have a lot of customization options when preparing your card. Send it exactly as pictured if in a hurry, or take a few minutes to change fonts, text, layout and colors. Here is the edit screen for the “back to college” card we sent to our niece:
After personalizing my message, Greeting Card Universe sent it directly to her college address. She really got a kick out of this funny little card, which came as a complete surprise.
The only drawback to creating a card online and having Greeting Card Universe mail it for you is that it won’t have your actual handwriting on it, so you’ll sacrifice that small personal touch. But being able to customize the printed message and add a closing with your name will certainly be appreciated by the recipient. While I won’t use Greeting Card Universe exclusively when it comes to sending cards in the future, it will be my first choice when I want to send multiple greetings to different people or have run out of stamps.
While I’m a huge fan of sending cards to friends and family, I have to admit that it takes some extra time and effort, as well as last-minute trips to the store and post office. Greeting Card Universe makes it possible for even the busiest person to send personal greetings in the mail, and the cost is amazingly low. You’ll love the fast shipping, great service and the “thanks” that you get back from those you care about.
You can create as many cards as you want in your order, even if they are all going to different addresses. My total for 4 full-color customized cards, with postage (and mailing service to my recipients) included, was just $15.44. That comes to about $3.75 per card – and remember that price includes having them mailed wherever you choose. Can your favorite greeting card store offer a deal like that?
If you’d like to try Greeting Card Universe’s fast and easy service use code ZEPHYRHILL20 for 20% off your order! If your order contains 5 or more cards, shipping is FREE.
