I’ve nursed 8 babies so far and tried lots of cover-ups through the years. Like most breastfeeding mothers, we’ve had snags along the way. Covers that are too thin, too bulky or hot, too small or too big, too easy for baby to pull off, and the list goes on. I’m sure you’ve had some frustrating moments, too.
When Amber from Milk and Sugar Baby asked if I would like to feature her ONEder Cover on my blog, I was more than happy to oblige because the design really blew me away with its ingenuity. This smart and super cute cover is one I think you all will be impressed with, too! Amber sent a complimentary sample of her ONEder cover to facilitate today’s post. It’s available in 4 colors/prints; this one is called Paradise Birds and is simply gorgeous!
One side is designer cotton and the backing is white cotton velour. Inside is a layer of cotton birdseye.
Each snap and cut-out in the fabric is strategically placed to give you access to all the features of the ONEder cover.
Amber designed the ONEder for “Babies who are wiggly. Babies who are curious. Babies who want to nurse everywhere. And for mothers! Mothers who want a cover that can actually keep them covered when and where they want. Mothers who also want a cover that can be still be useful when they stop breastfeeding (or stop using a cover).”
In this video, mother and inventor Amber shows how to use the ONEder cover 9 different ways while nursing your baby.
The ONEder Cover snaps quickly and easily at the neck. You don’t have to adjust buckles or worry about straps hanging down that your baby can grab.
As illustrated in the video above, there’s also the option of creating a little “window” to view your baby’s face while nursing.
Some babies don’t like to be covered at all during nursing. The ONEder cover has a fix for this, too. Snap it around your neck and then let it drape down and cover only one side, as shown below. There’s a strategically placed cutout on the ONEder cover that gives your baby access while keeping your chest hidden. If your baby pulls at the cover, just reach over and use the extra fabric hanging down to quickly cover back up.
The ONEder covers folds up to a square roughly 8×8 inches, so it stores easily in your diaper bag.
Besides a nursing cover, the ONEder doubles as a bib, smock, stroller cover, burp cloth and more. And here’s another great idea from Amber. When bathing a small infant, snap it around your neck, velour side facing up. After the bath is done, pick up your baby and hold him or her on your chest as you wrap the ONEder cover around. It will keep your baby warm and your clothes dry. Conversely, you can use the ONEder to wrap your baby on the way TO the tub.
I can use it for Ingrid as a lap blanket or oversized bib.
Ingrid weaned a few months ago, but she was more than happy to let me practice wearing the ONEder cover with her in position.
You can see I’ve already found ways to use the ONEder cover and I’m not even breastfeeding (yet). If we are blessed with another baby, I am looking forward to seeing how it works out for us.
The ONEder Cover can be machine washed on cold or warm. Hang or tumble dry on low. It is CSPIA compliant and all materials have been tested for lead and flammability.

I think it’s a great idea, there needs to be a little bit of diversity in the nursing cover world and this adds a lot of choices.

What a fantastic cover! I heard about it before but hadn’t seen it in action.

I love that this cover does not cover baby’s face! My boys would not nurse with any of the covers that I had, and I do not blame them. The design is amazing and I could see my boys using it as an oversized bib or a smock for art projects.

I love that it doubles as a car seat blanket! Genius!
