The Rumparooz diaper cover was just featured on my blog two weeks ago. Now it’s time for another review. One of the most popular products that Rumparooz makes is a one-size pocket diaper. I won the “Perky Perennials” diaper in a Padded Tush Stats giveaway, and this gave me the opportunity to share our experiences on the blog. At the end of this post, find out how you can win a RaR pocket diaper in today’s Fall Fun giveaway hop!
Here are the basic features of the Rumparooz one-size pocket diaper:
- Outer shell is made of waterproof thermally-bonded PUL.
- Inside lining is white microchamois
- The back of the waistband is elasticized.
- The rise features 3 rows of snaps, which translates to 4 size settings (three snapped up and one completely open).
- The wings close with double snaps.
- Includes the exclusive Rumparooz 6r Soaker
- Inner gusset/channel sewn into the fleece lining
- Currently available in about 40 different colors and prints, in snap or hook & loop closure
- Retail price starts at $23.95
- Warranty: 6 months
Kanga Care/Rumparooz is located in Littleton, Colorado; products are made in different locations including the USA, Denmark and China.
This picture illustrates the 4 different size settings, which I would call newborn, small, medium and large. In the first picture below, I’ve placed it next to an actual newborn diaper for perspective.
The white microchamois lining is not only MUCH softer than your average microfleece or microsuede, it’s also hypoallergenic. The pocket opening is wide enough for easy stuffing. The patented inner gusset creates an elasticized channel for better containment of messes.
Each Rumparooz pocket comes with a unique microfiber 6r soaker. It’s a set that can be used together or separately.
In fact, there are 6 different settings, based on your baby’s size and absorbency needs. This chart from Rumparooz illustrates all the options. There are even recommended settings for boys and girls, since their “wet zones” vary.
Here’s another little thing that makes Rumparooz unique: the little kangaroo snaps.
Sizing: The Rumparooz pocket runs a bit smaller than the Rumparooz one-size cover. Compared to the Rumparooz cover, the Rumparooz pocket has a shorter rise, so keep that in mind if you’ve tried one product but not the other. Erik (my 2 year old toddler) can wear the cover just fine, but the pocket sits much lower on him (below).
Fit: I like the overall trim fit of this pocket diaper, the double snap closure and the soft microchamois inside and around the leg openings. And I like that it does not have the front elastic (so it stays more flat). Double snaps at the waist mean you can adjust around the legs and tummy separately. The thermally-bonded PUL is very soft and pliable and the wings have lots of stretch. The crotch area is a little wide compared to some of our other pockets, but the upside is it’s easier to stuff.
Here’s the Rumparooz pocket on 13-month-old Ingrid. She is short with chubby little legs.
Absorbency: The included soakers are made of 80% polyester/20% polymide. There are 3 layers in the newborn soaker and 3 layers in the adjustable soaker, giving you 6 altogether. So it’s about double what you typically get in a pocket diaper. This is a pocket diaper I was pleasantly surprised to find that Ingrid can wear all night long, and it has that comfortale stay-dry effect.
Ingrid is well past the days of runny poos and blow outs (she is almost 90 percent weaned from breastfeeding), but we do get a big mess every so often. Toddlers are adventurous eaters! The inner gussets in this diaper do help contain things better, especially when you have an active baby. However, if you don’t have a diaper sprayer, it will take some very vigorous dunking and swishing to rinse the gussets out. Flushable liners would be a good option in that instance.
If microfiber is not your thing, inserts are also available in hemp or bamboo. All Rumparooz inserts can be purchased separately.
Quality: This is a sturdy, well made and beautiful diaper with strong, evenly placed snaps. Rumparooz colors and prints are vibrant and appealing. I’m happy with the consistent quality of all the Rumparooz products we’ve tested so far.

Perky Perrenials is my favorite RaR print! 🙂
I used lilJoeys on my newborn, but haven’t used any of their one-sizes! I’d love “unity.”
I have a rumparooz cover that I want to love (it feels soooo soft) but the front elastic just doesn’t get a good fit on my LO and the Aplix ends up rubbing on her. I’d love to try the pocket since it doesn’t have that front elastic!

My favorite Rumparooz print is Preppy.
We LOVE our rumparooz covers for our son! Would love to try this diaper too! If I win this print I am gifting it to my friend who will be using cloth for the first time in December with her first baby!
How wonderful, Catherine! And winner gets to choose from in stock prints! ~Anne
We love RARz! they are our go to diapers. Love the double gussets and sizing. Even fits my skinny minnie!
There are just so many prints and colors I love from Rumparooz. Unity and Dexter for sure, Phantom..
I love almost all Rumparooz diaper colors/prints. I own only one though in newborn size and sadly my daughter outgrew it long ago. I’d love more, maybe for my next LO i’ll stock up on these.
Since my husband’s Australian and our soon-to-be-born son was conceived there (where we had kangaroos in our yard ALL THE TIME), I’m going to have to go for the kangarooz print as my favorite! Would love to try RaR. Thanks!
I love that!!
I love the Botanicals one as well as the Bonnie and Clyde. The solid colors are wonderful and vibrant!
I love the Clyde print, so cute!
I really like the unity print. This is our only diaper that seems to fit my 2 month old and 21 month old quite well.

I like the “Charlie” pattern.

I have not tried the Rumparooz diapers yet, but really considering them for baby #3. Love the Bonnie & Clyde prints!
As always, Ingrid is so cute! I love her little poses. I like that you can choose what insert types you want, although recently, I’ve found a new liking to microfiber…surprisingly!! My favorite print is Perky Perennials.
Geneveigh, thank you so much for the sweet comments that you leave! Like you, I’ve found microfiber works well for us, though I know there are many nay-sayers. And the price is so much more affordable than bamboo or hemp. ~Anne
I really like the Destiny print
I love their unity print!! id choose a perky perennials!
I really love INVADER and JEWELED (tied) best!
I love the newborn AIO’s, and I also love the perennial print!
Can I vote for this diaper, Perky Perennials? I remember seeing it a while ago (a spring release?) and falling in love with it then 🙂
It’s lovely, I agree! Florals aren’t always my thing but this one is bright and beautiful! ~Anne
The new Admiral print is so precious! I love it!
i love the Preppy print!
Cute print! Kinda girly but I’d definitely still use it for a boy.
in love with the lux print
I love the Quinn & Charlie patterns- so cute!
I love my Rumparooz pockets! It would be difficult to choose between Unity, Invader, Clyde, or Charlie. I love them all. Now that my son is almost 3, I use Sloomb flats in a Medium as inserts in my Rumparooz pockets. They work wonderfully. I’ve always preferred Rumparooz 6r microfiber inserts over other brands of mf.Most of our 6r inserts are getting close to the end of their useable lives, so bamboo to the Rescue. Of course my toddler needs the bamboo for extended use.
I like the unique design of the 6r, too. Definitely different from the competition! ~Anne
I would love the charlie print in a rumparooz!
I love Dexter print but they are all pretty adorable!
I love the kangaroo snaps! I never heard anyone mention that detail before!
My favourite print is Charlie!
I’ve never used Rumparooz but I’ve heard their fantastic. I have two little boys and I really like how the inserts have a boys setting that would soak up more, definitely need that for them. I love Dexter, but all of the boys patterns are neat.
I like the Clyde print best.
I really like the Preppy design!
We have a rumparooz cover in the Ladder 6 print that we got as a gift for my firefighter husband. We loved that it fit our smaller baby right away! I’d love to try a pocket in the Unity print!
I love the new dark blue print with the anchors on it. I just got it in a RaR cover and it looks so dashing!
I like blues and greens like Peacock but Dexter is pretty cool !! So is Quinn
I’m a huge fan of Perky Perennials! Super cute!
I ADORE Unity!!
I love the new nautical print from Rumparooz! It’s very gender neutral and classy!
I love the ‘Clyde’ print!!
I would love Poppy! I’m addicted to orange diapers and don’t own a RAR yet!
The Bonnie and Unit are adorable!
I love Clyde the best but they are all so cute!
