I’m really happy about being able to introduce you to another Organics by Ti product, in conjunction with the Favorite Things Giveaway Hop, hosted by the Cloth Diaper Revival. Today I’ll review Tibeca’s luxury bamboo baby loop terry flat diapers. Tibeca sent two complimentary infant-sized flat diapers in exchange for a review. They measure about 28″ square. She also sells a small/newborn size diaper which is 25″ square. Both sizes are $8.00 each.
Here is the diaper laid out, to give you some perspective.
100% bamboo baby loop terry is buttery soft and has a little bit of natural stretch to it. One side is knitted and flat; the other is textured with a fine loop terry. You can use a Boingo or Snappi with this type of diaper, or just pad fold and lay in a cover. The rounded edges are serged in your choice of thread color.
Here’s the diaper padfolded next to a one-size diaper on its largest setting. When padfolded, it measures about 5×14.
This fabric is a little bit thicker than a standard cotton or cotton/bamboo flat diaper. When padfolded it will be a little bulkier:
The advantage is that this is one of the only flat diapers that we can use all by itself at night. Because this is a large diaper, I’ve tested it exclusively on 2-year-old Erik. He has worn it overnight twice, padfolded, with no doubler at all, with no leaks. For only $8 (less than half the cost of a good fitted), I’m mightily impressed!
Per Tibeca’s instructions, I only washed and dried the diapers once before using to remove residue and they absorbed fine after that.
Since this diaper is a bit stretchy, it’s really easy to fold and fasten around your child. Tibeca prefers the Origami fold, which was completely new to me, but I tried it successfully on Erik using Jenny’s easy tutorial over at Cloth Diaper Revival. Jenny also includes a modified Origami fold called the Happy Anteater. You can click this thumbnail to see both:
As a reminder, flat diapers of any kind have many uses beyond diapering (burp cloths, changing pad, etc.). The Organics by Ti flats are so soft and silky that they can even be used as a little blanket or lovey. Because of the generous size, how about a nursing cover?
And now you can see how this beautiful, organic flat diaper fits on Erik!

The most important thing to me when choosing a cloth diapers is the fit size.
Becky C. says
Flats are starting to convert me….. Either you save time and effort on the changing table or the laundry room, and I debate about which is more important.
I’d love to try something other than my OsoCozy and homemade T-shirt flats! If nothing else, it’d be another good option for overnight stuffing! And the color choices are so much fun! I think the hardest thing if I won would be to choose the color!
Anne says
You make a really good point. Whatever you choose in cloth diapering, there’s always a trade off.

Fit and absorbancy are most important when choosing a diaper.
Kristina says
The fit looks good on him, I can tell it has some give to the material. My problem with cotton prefolds and flats is I can never get them to stay snug when the child starts climbing about. Everything loosens up and slides down! I’ve tried several folds and get the same result. Frustrating. I like them to go coverless around the house if possible but usually easier to do a pad fold and cover instead.
Anne says
Kristina, in my experience it’s pretty challenging to keep any flat or prefold on with a really active toddler. The “stretchy” bamboo flats (like Stashify and Organics by Ti and Sweet Iris) seem to work the best because the fabric “hugs” your child, but eventually the diaper is going to get out of whack the longer they move about. ~Anne
Sarah L says
I’ve had better luck with the stretchier flats, too, but my toddler’s diapers always seem to loosen up between the legs. The Origami and Happy Anteater folds actually led to a lot of loosening between my toddler’s legs. We’ve had the best luck with the Diaper Bag fold. We do usually use a cover, though.
Anne says
Haven’t tried Diaper Bag yet, Sarah. Now you’ve got me curious! ~Anne
Mel K says
My nephew is cloth diapered and initially, when my sister-in-law was showing me different ways to cloth diaper, Flats were just….it’s the simplest thing in the world. I love it! Now that I’m expecting my first child, it seems only natural to want to use them along with other cloth diapering techniques.
