Estany’s Flame (Amber & Haze) Jewelry Review & Giveaway

If you are a big fan of nursing and teething jewelry, then I’m pretty sure you’ll have fun reading today’s review (and giveaway)! I discovered Amber and Haze by Estanys Flame when Emmalee invited me to try one of her silicone pendant nursing necklaces. The first two things that jumped out at me in her shop were the incredible prices and eclectic selection. Her fun jewelry pieces start at just $7.00 and they are crafted from many different materials including silicone, wood, amber and hazelwood.

I picked this purple, blue and black pendant since these are colors I wear quite often:

The necklace is about 30 inches long and both pendant and beads are food-grade silicone. That means your baby or toddler can teethe on it to his heart’s content and you don’t have to worry about toxicity. The nylon cord closes with a plastic clasp which will safely pop open if pulled very hard. This style of Estanys Flame necklace retails for just $11.00, which is very competitive compared to what I see on the market.

Emmalee’s necklace is not just eye-catching; it’s very durable. Besides the strong cord and rugged silicone that shes uses, her workmanship is great. The necklace lies flat when I wear it, and everything has stayed put despite Erik’s pulling and tugging.

When I said there’s a lot of variety at Amber & Haze, I wasn’t exaggerating. Take a look! Her amber and hazelwood designs are especially unique.

Emmalee was also kind enough to send a complimentary sample of her Rash Repair ointment, which you can choose to buy with or without zinc oxide – I chose WITH because I like how zinc helps a rash remedy stay put on the skin. It’s the gold standard ingredient when it comes to protecting and healing diaper rash and I’ve never had a problem with this ingredient rinsing out of my cotton and bamboo diapers (you may or may not notice problems with zinc oxide on fleece and microfiber).

The Rash Repair I received was packaged in a twist-up 0.7 ounce stick tube, but you can also request it in a different container to make it easy to spread with your fingers. I would definitely prefer to apply with my fingers if I had the choice because the formula is firm at room temperature and it can be uncomfortable to apply pressure from the stick onto sore/inflamed skin.

Rash Repair contains all-organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Coconut oil, infused Raw Baltic Amber, Calendula Flower, Lavender Flower, Comfrey Root, Chamomile, Lemon Balm, Neem, Self Heal, Holy Basil, Chickweed, Mango Butter, Shea Butter, Beeswax, Aloe Vera, Vitamin E oil and Tea Tree oil. As mentioned before, Zinc Oxide is optional.

There are lot of healing ingredients in this balm that I’ve used before and highly recommend, especially Calendula, Comfrey, Aloe Vera, Zinc and Chamomile, but many of them are new to me as well. I tested the balm on a typical diaper rash and it worked great to lessen redness and speed healing. A few days ago, 5-year-old Benjamin got into something outside and came in with a inflamed rash on his neck. I applied Rash Repair to it and by nightfall the inflammation was almost completely gone.

  5. Mod Elephant Silicone Nursing Necklace is one of my favorites. Nursing necklaces are the perfect entertainment for any feeding child, bottle or breastfed. It is the best distraction to prevent pinching, hitting, and restless baby hands. But really I like every feature of this necklace.

  50. I have two raw unpolished amber necklaces from her. One I got for my baby who is now two which is white and lemon and absolutely stunning. I can really see the time and effort put into making the peice beatiful as well as functional. And one for my husband with the standard looking orangey amber. I must say, he had a neck injury from a car accident and was VERY skeptical about the necklace. He hates wearing jewlery of any sort but did wear the necklace as often as he could manage because he said that, much to his surprise, it dulled the pain a bit.
