When Erik was born in December, I shared with you how much I love our Bummis newborn diaper covers. My little fellow is now 2 months old and 11 pounds and recently got to try another wonderful product: the Tots Bots Bamboozle, which is distributed in North America, by Bummis. They also sent us a cute Bummis red Super Lite Wrap in size small to pair with the fitted. What a nice gesture! It’s really a great honor to work with Bummis for the first time; I’ve been a fan ever since we started diapering and just recently discovered their fitted diapers.
First off, here’s a little snippet about Bummis. Read this comment from their website and you can tell right off that these folks LOVE what they do! “We live on a wonderful little cloth diapering planet here at Bummis that we and our employees have created. Both our factory and our office are lovely spaces with lots of plants and natural light. We have a beautiful retail store in Montreal where we sell cloth diapers, baby carriers and breastfeeding accessories. In addition, we have a shipping warehouse and a small staff in upstate NY, in the very scenic 1000 Islands. We all really enjoy working on our special little planet refuge at Bummis, and we have a great team – all of whom care passionately about what we do and how we do it.”
I love the fact that Bummis is creating jobs and prosperity in their community, by keeping things as local as possible. 🙂
Bummis produces nearly all of their diapering products at the Montreal factory; a few components are outsourced to highly reputable partners in the United Kingdom and Pakistan.
And now, here’s the scoop on our diaper!
The Bamboozle Fitted is constructed with an exterior and interior made of silky 100% bamboo from rayon. There’s a hidden layer of microfiber inside, plus a bamboo from rayon soaker that snaps into the front of the diaper.
It’s a two-part sizing system; the Bamboozles come in size one (5 to 18 pounds) and size two (9 to 35 pounds). They are priced at $19.95, which falls in the moderate range as far as bamboo fitteds go. Bamboozles close with hook & loop and are made in Scotland.
I washed and dried our Bamboozle Fitted twice before using.
On the smallest setting, it still covers Erik’s belly button, and he’s just over 11 pounds now. That tells me it would likely have been too large for him to wear as a newborn. It’s been so easy to use this diaper because of the hook and loop closure. In mere seconds, I can get it on my squirmy little boy. And I’m sure Erik loves the silky bamboo against his skin.
My thoughts about the diaper’s performance after a few weeks? Besides being very cozy, and quick to get on and off, the Bamboozle Fitted washes and dries very easily. The laundry tabs are super strong and never come undone in the wash, and drying time is not any longer compared to my other bamboo diapers. It holds a LOT of liquid, too. We use it all the time for Erik’s naps with no leaks at all. I’ve tried it once overnight and stuck a tiny little GMD workhorse doubler in there for good measure; this combo successfully kept everything in all night.
This is a really trim-fitting diaper, too. I think the hidden microfiber layer is what helps keep this diaper more slim, compared to the other 100% bamboo fitteds we’ve tried before.
After several weeks of use and washing, I’ve noticed some pilling on the fabric. It doesn’t affect the function, however. Bamboo fabric also gets stiff and a bit crunchy after a lot of use, so that’s another drawback.
The lightweight Bummis wrap is a simple and very economical cover. The interior can be wiped clean, and there’s a flap inside to help keep prefolds and inserts tucked in nicely. In the photo below, I’m using a newborn Geffen hemp jersey prefold. Bummis Super Lite Wraps retail for just $9.99!
Here’s the small Super Lite Wrap over the Bamboozle Stretch Fitted. The wide and stretchy waist tabs are great and hug Erik’s little belly comfortably. Although hook and loop is not my first choice for closure, I admit it delivers an exact fit around the waist. With snapping covers, the empty spaces/gaps mean that as your baby grows you’ll sometimes find they are right in between snaps so that you have to fasten the cover a little looser or tighter than you like. The aplix closure on the Bummis Super Lite also helps keep the price of this very frugal favorite low.
Size one Bamboozle fitteds are available in the natural color; size two fitteds come in 7 different color choices!
The Bummis Super Lite wrap is sold in these 5 bright colors. Red and blue are my favorites!

My daughter is 2 and I would like to try the potty pant.
I have a 25 month old who is potty trained and we are expecting #2 this June. I would love to try the bummis fitteds for #2 because I have heard so much about them.
I’ve used Bummis covers for all 3 of my kids and have loved them. We used the NB Super Lite Wrap for our youngest (6mos now) and it was my favorite. So trim and easy!
I would like to try the Tini Fit Diaper
Our little guy is due next month!! And I like the blue!
My son is 15 months, I would love to try bamboozle in snaps!
I would love to try the tiny fit I have a petit 8 month old and another girl on the way!
I am so excited to see a review for Bummis! My first is due next month and after shopping around, I ordered a Bummi’s Starter Kit with 24 prefolds and a variety of their covers (Including the Super Lite.) I was a bit skeptical as everyone I know uses Bumgenius or Charlie Bananas, but this makes me feel very secure in my purchase. I would love to try the Bamboozle fitted!
3 years and due in 3 days! Super lite wraps brown or red.
I like that this diaper is easy to get off and on. Glad you shared you didn’t have an problems with the Velcro washing.
My son is 4.5 mos. I’ve been wanting to try the Bamboozle diapers for overnight.
Hipe to win for the nOOb in July!
My daughter is 4 1/2 months and I’d like to try the two piece diaper!
It seems to me that the extra large pocket in the front of the cover to hold the prefold would come down too far on a boy, and make them pee all over it instead of the prefold. Have you tried the cover with pad fold? Is that an issue?
As long as I’ve got Erik “pointing” down, it hasn’t been an issue, Shana. But I think I remember another mama (on a forum, I think) saying she had actually trimmed the flap back a bit with scissors because her son did end up missing the diaper sometimes. A lot of mamas don’t even use the flap. I don’t when we’re in a hurry. ~Anne
Baby is not here yet, and I would love to try the Bamboozle diaper!
No baby yet, but would love to try the Bamboo fitted!
My baby is 9 mo. old. I would love to try the Bamboozle Fitted and Super Lite Wrap Cover. I love bamboo diapers and I like the blue and chocolate covers. In fact I was researching the Super Lite Wrap Cover earlier today! Thanks for the great review!
Thanks for the review. I was thinking about trying the Bamboozle fitted awhile ago, but never got around to buying one. I like that there is only one flap on the wrap and that it’s in the front (although, it does seem rather large), because a few of my other covers also have flaps, but in the front and back, and I feel compelled to use both, even though that seems to guarantee that my baby will poop all over the back flap. Really just my problem, I shouldn’t bother using that back flap. My daughter is almost 7 months, and I’d like to try that Bamboozle since I was thinking about trying it anyway!
Great review. I like how they fit and hook and loop isnt my favorite closure either but this one seems to be nice and comfortable for the baby. my daughter is 11mo and Id love to try the super lite wrap
I absolutely love our Bamboozle fitted – it’s the go-to night time dipe with my almost 2 year old! With another on the way, I’d love to try the Bummis cover, since we’ll be using prefolds in the beginning.
My son is 18 months and daughter is 2 months. I would like to try the super whisper wrap
I’ve looked at this diaper before and am interested in trying one. I have a couple of bamboo pockets and have been thinking about getting more fitteds. These would be lovely.
My little granddaughter is 1 1/2 and we would like to try the Bummis Swim Diaper.
I love their super whisper wraps
My little one is on the way, so I’m looking forward to trying the Bummis S-T-R-E-T-C-H Bamboozle diaper with him!
My current child is 16 months but I want to start collecting for my next child
Thanks for including all the pictures – really helpful! My daughter is 13 months and I haven’t tried any types of fitteds yet but I have heard great things!
I’ve been wanting to try the Bamboozle for a while now, It was sold out when I bought my last round of diapers (I may have a slight addiction…). Thanks for the opportunity!
My baby isn’t due until October, but I’m building my stash now!
I’d love to try the EasyFit.
I am absolutely in love with my Bamboozle. It is now my favorite night time diaper under a wool cover! I only add a small hemp doubler for good measure. I reach for this one first but need more to have a good night time stash!
I’m generally partial to snaps, but the aplix on the Bamboozle is so strong that I’m not worried about baby’s grabby hands being able to pull it apart.
I cloth diaper a 1 year old. My first Bummis purchase was two weeks ago, I bought a wet bag. Although I bought it for use in the kitchen for dirty rag/bibs. I really like the wet bag, it is great quality. I would like to get another. But being I am so pleased with their wet bags, I’d like to try their diapers as well!
My babies are 4 months and 17 months and we’d like to try the Bummis swim diapers this summer.
I’ve only used the Super Whisper Wraps. I love them, and I would love to try any of their other products. You wrote a good review. It was nice to see what the diaper looks like inside.
Love the Bummis snap covers. So durable! As far as teething, our little one hasn’t been too much of a problem. It usually includes a runny nose and a few nights of waking.
my baby is due in August would love to try Bummis super lite wraps
I cloth diaper my eight year old special needs brother (he’s about the size of a three year old). We used Bummis’ polar bummi for night time, so sad when they discontinued it. 🙁 I’d like to try their New Easy Fit Diaper in the London print.
Thank you for hosting this great giveaway! Love the pictures of your little guy. Such a cutie!
Our new baby is due April 20th!
I like how there is a snap in insert on top of the hidden layer of microfiber inside. Although it is a two sizing system I like that size 2 is nearly a one-size diaper (most one-size diapers fit 8-35 pounds so this is very close). I also like that it washes and dries quick and easily and that the laundry tabs actually hold and do not come undone in the wash since so many other diapers laundry tabs do not seem to hold. I also like that the fit is trim but is real absorbent despite being trim. When it comes to the wrap, I like how there is a flap to hold the insert/prefold in and that the interior can be wiped clean. Since it can be wiped clean does that mean that it can be re-used? Also, I have used the Flip diapering system and this wrap seems very similar to that diapering system. I know with the Flips though the prefolds/inserts aren’t always held in place and can move around since they don’t snap in but rather are held in by a flap in the front and back so does the flap in the wrap hold in the insert/prefold and prevent it from moving around (the flap does seem larger than the ones in the Flip covers)? On a side note, I love how you include pictures in your reviews because it makes it easy to visualize the diaper as well as how it fits on a child.
Hi Lisa, thanks for leaving your thoughts on my review! I appreciate you taking time to share your opinions. As to your question, the flap inside the Bummis Super Lite is a little bigger than the Flip so it does help the inserts stay put a little better. If using prefolds, you can also keep them from shifting around by using a diaper fastener. A “wipe clean and re-use” cover means that inside lining is completely waterproof so if it gets a bit damp you can clean it with a wipe, let it air dry for a short time and then put on baby again. Many covers have knitted material inside or are lined with fabrics like fleece that hold onto moisture, so they are one use only. ~Anne
I love bamboo cloth diapers, I find them to be the best for overnight.
My little boy is due in 3 weeks, I would love to try the fitted

I have a 2.5 year old and a 5 month old…. the Potty Pant looks nice for potty learning..
I have 2 daughters, 8 months old, and 3 years old. I would love to try the Bummis prefolds, the potty pant, and the snap wraps! I love my Bummis cover that I have from when my 3y/o was in diapers, but most of the diapers/covers I used with her are quite worn out and in need of being replaced. I love to use prefolds and covers with my little chunk.
I am sure though that my hubby would rather try the all in one diapers. 😛
Great review! I have a very old (used) version of this fitted diaper, and I am starting to really appreciate its absorbency! But I’d still love to try out this one. My daughter is almost 2 and I’m hoping to start potty training in a short while- the Bummis Potty Pants look great for that. 🙂
